Botox for Wrinkle Correction

What is Botox ?

Botox is a chemical that blocks electrical impulses to muscles that normally cause them to contract, making them relax. It has been safely used for many years for wrinkle correction and other medical therapies, with minimal side-effects.

How does it work and is it painful?

As we get older, the muscles of facial expression become hyperactive, causing deep frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet around the eyes. Injections of Botox give the face a smoother and more relaxed appearance. Treatments are administered with very fine needles, causing slight discomfort only, anaesthetic creams can be used if desired

How long does it take to work ?

The initial effect takes 4-7 days to be visible and up to 2 weeks for maximum effect. It leaves a natural looking relaxed appearance –not like a mask - and lasts from 4-5 months.

Potential adverse effects

Botox is a very safe and effective treatment. However, as with any drugs there are a few side-effects that occasionally occur. These will be discussed with you before any treatments, as will contra-indications.

Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are composed of Hyaluronic Acid that is a natural component found in the body, and is injected just under the skin to help preserve and restore a youthful look. Treatments are administered with very fine needles, causing slight discomfort only, anaesthetic creams can be used if desired.

Immediate results

Using these preparations, the wrinkles and folds are immediately filled and corrected – results will be visible straight away.

How long does the effect last?

The effect usually lasts 6 months - maybe longer in some individuals.

Initial Consultation

During your initial consultation, we will take your medical history, including any medication you may be taking, explore what your requirements are, take pre- treatment photos and propose suitable treatments for you.

A combination of Botox and Dermal Fillers may be recommended for best results.

A follow up consultation will be booked for 2 weeks.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Perspiration)

Many people find that excessive underarm (or elsewhere) perspiration can be an unpleasant and embarrassing problem. A series of small injections with Botulinum Toxin can substantially reduce and usually eliminate this problem. The treatment takes only a few minutes and usually lasts anywhere between 9 – 12 months.
